Another year

Another year zoomed by again. I've been out of the picture most of the time these days. For some time now, I have switched to blogging on Friendster (http://peisan.blogs.friendster.com/my_blog/) but have decided recently to return to blogger. 2007 had been a very challenging year. Being a wife at first, then being pregnant and being a new mother. I have learned lots but there are just so much to story in such a short time. Have I matured? I am not sure about this. At times, I think my brain cells went through apoptosis the moment I became pregnant. So slowly is the process, that I now feel that I have forgotten much about what I have learned during my years as a student. It is scary whenever I think about it. So constantly, I am trying to read about things that are related to my job at times, even telling my young son who had just turned 3 months old about the process that is going through in the brain that involves POMC. What would a 3 months old know? He would smile at me, as if trying to make me realize that there are things that cannot be changed and he will try to be good and walk be through it. IT IS a blessing, this baby. I will feel down one second but whenever he smiles, the momentary shadow over my eyes brightened.

Rainy saturday...

Couldn't help it. I do not usually do this but today I've decided to include a small video by Lee Hom. I've never heard of this song before today. Just thought that the rain today may have created a temporarily sentimental me. It's been a long long week. Work, work and more work. I just want to lie down and play dead for hours. But, chores are calling me to do them. Sigh...

Ouchy... Ouchy..

I feel and look exactly like that now! Just had my last 3 wisdom teeth removed. Didn't took long, but they are all gone. Now what's left is a little clear bag that keeps these teeth for a little souvenier. My face is still numb, swollen. I can't sleep. The moment I lie down, I start to drool... Disgusting, isn't it?? Yup... the agony of dental surgery. I've always wondered why these teeth were called the wisdom teeth. We use to joke that when these teeth were removed, we will be left without wisdom. Seriously, who started it all, calling it the wisdom tooth (pl: teeth)? I am hungry and dying for something to eat, but the taste of blood is stopping me from doing so. Yea, yea,... I shouldn't be so figurative. It's not that bad actually. When I had my first wisdom tooth removed 4 years back in 2002. It was the worst ever experience that I'd ever had. It was the hottest day at 35 deg C. The bleeding continued for the longest time. My teeth was impacted (grew horizontally) and it tool the surgeon a good 2 hrs just to take it out. horrible isn't it. Today, it took the surgeon 30 minutes to have all 3 taken out and one of them were impacted. Amazing?? Tell me about it. My teeth don't look all too bad *giggle*. They do look smaller from what I'd expected. Well, I think I can feel the tingling feeling now, so it's time for the painkiller to kick in and hopefully a nice sleep. I'd planned to go into the lab tomorrow to finish my experiment. Do you think I'll be able to make it? Let's us hope so. :)
