Whoever said the second time round is easier is WRONG.
Childbearing is always a new experience no matter how many times you have had a kid. In my case, it is just the second time round and no I do not find it any easier or myself more prepared in any way possible (except, by having more infant/toddler clothing in stock). God knows how my grandma (ah por) manage to go through with 13 children (YUP!! 13). My mom herself has five. It is still nerve wrecking and unexpected at different stages of the pregnancy.
My husband was not with me during my pregnancy with my first child but things seemed to be a breeze because I was not plagued with morning sickness. The whole experience was new and perhaps being the first time and the fact that I have four other colleagues who were also pregnant at the same time makes the process less stressful and more fun. It was like a league of pregnant women. We would share our stories and crazy ideas for over-coming our fear of child-birth and our joy when the we experienced the first kick or a slight tickle from inside the tummy.
Who knows that 3 years later today, I will be going through the same process again, except - there are no other pregnant women with me and I have my beloved hubby who would come and help ease the tensed muscles of my legs. Also my soon-to-be three year old would come and put his ear on my tummy and kiss the baby good night. At first, I was playing with the idea of not letting my kid know until later in the pregnancy fearing that he may feel inferior or insecure that someone new is coming to take his spot.
Surprisingly, I AM glad that my little guy has more heart than some kids that I have seen. He has his fears but he did not shy away from my growing tummy. Instead, he embraced the idea and looked forward to "playing chase" with his new brother or sister once he or she is born.
So there you go, another time and more new lessons are learned and to be learned.
I do not make much sense at times especially when life is slow and nothing seems to get done. Time... "tic tock... tic tock" seems to be chasing after me (or is it the other way round). Whenever I get the chance, and when my dear brain is not drain, I pen...
